How does the Holy Spirit come to me?

01THE SHORT ANSWER
When you hear the Gospel and believe in Jesus, God seals you with the promised Holy Spirit. Jesus said that the Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him; therefore, you can ask the Father in faith.
02THE WORD
Here is what the Bible says about this question.
“In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.”
Ephesians 1:13-14
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?””
Luke 11:13
“Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 2:38
Believe in Jesus and ask the Father to fill you with the Holy Spirit.
Father,
today I ask for and accept the baptism with Your mighty Spirit.
Fill me now and give me the ability to pray in other tongues.
I receive it now, in Jesus' name.
Amen.
After you have prayed, do not look for a specific feeling as proof. Thank God and stand in faith on His Word, believing that you receive when you pray.
