Part 01

Before anything changed

It was a summer day and my 8-year-old daughter wasn't feeling well.

She had a fever, was vomiting, and had no appetite.

We went to the doctor, and she asked us to have some blood tests done for the patient.

When we got the results, the picture was not good at all.

On the test sheet, there were six or seven parameters outside the normal limits, highlighted in bold.

When you see such results and it's about an 8-year-old child, it's hard not to be scared.

Grandpa and grandma were alarmed.

I, surprisingly, was calmer.

Not because the results didn't bother me, but because I had already started to experience something different regarding prayer and faith.

I was no longer in the same state of fear I would have been in before.

We showed the tests to the doctor.

"She recommended antibiotic treatment, but, before we started it, she asked us to repeat the tests after two days to see if there was any infection."

Part 02

The turning point

The next day I started to pray.

I didn't know what the future tests would show.

But I decided to pray and believe that everything would go well.

The following morning, two days after the first tests, we took our daughter to repeat them.

When we got the results, I opened the sheet and started checking them one by one.

Page after page.

Parameter after parameter.

And then I saw something I didn't expect.

Part 03

What I understood

All parameters were within normal limits.

None of them were marked in bold anymore.

I checked them again.

Then once more.

The results had changed.

What seemed alarming two days ago, was now within normal limits.

And this time it wasn't a story I had heard from someone else.

It was something I was seeing myself, before my own eyes.

But what impressed me most was not just the result.

It was what I was beginning to understand from these experiences.

Previously, when I heard people talk about prayer, faith, or healing, they might have seemed like just words to me.

Now I was beginning to see them in my life.

Once with me.

Then with my daughter.

And every experience was pushing me to ask myself the same question:

“What if what I am discovering is not just a personal experience?”
