THIS PAIN WON'T LEAVE ME

What can I do when the pain keeps going?

DO YOU HAVE PAIN THAT WON'T LEAVE YOU?

Maybe it started today.

Maybe you've had it for days.

Maybe it goes away for a while and then comes back.

You've tried to rest.

You've sought the help you need.

But the pain is still there.

And you begin to ask:

WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?

WHAT IF THE PAIN COULD GO AWAY?

Someone else was in pain.

The pain was real.

He felt it in his body.

And he didn't simply want to learn to live with it.

He did something.

And according to his testimony, after he did it something changed:

THE PAIN WENT AWAY.

So the question is:

What did he do?

HERE IS WHAT HE DID

He was in pain.

He could not make it go away by his own strength.

But he had learned to rely on JESUS.

So he didn't remain focused only on the pain.

He acted in faith.

He spoke to the pain in the name of JESUS.

And according to his testimony:

THE PAIN WENT AWAY.

So:

there was a real problem.

He relied on JESUS.

He acted in faith in His name.

And according to his testimony, he saw a result.

Now the question is:

Why did he do that?

BECAUSE HE HAD SEEN WHAT JESUS DID

He did not invent this idea himself.

When you read about JESUS in the Bible, you repeatedly see people coming to Him:

with sickness.

with pain.

with physical problems they could not change by themselves.

And JESUS did not turn them away.

He helped them.

He healed them.

But in one story, the Bible tells us something very interesting.

A WOMAN HAD A HIGH FEVER

The Bible tells us about Peter's mother-in-law.

She was sick.

She had a high fever.

The people around her asked JESUS to help her.

JESUS came near her.

And then He did something that may surprise you:

He rebuked the fever.

THE FEVER LEFT

JESUS rebuked the fever.

And the Bible says:

THE FEVER LEFT HER.

The woman got up.

So:

there was a problem in her body.

JESUS spoke.

And her condition changed.

This was not the only time JESUS healed someone.

But now look at what the testimony describes many years later.

THEN AND TODAY

THEN:

A woman had a fever.

JESUS rebuked the fever.

The fever left.

TODAY:

The witness was in pain.

He relied on JESUS.

He spoke to the pain in the name of JESUS.

And according to his testimony:

the pain went away.

Two different situations.

Two different times.

But one very important question:

IS JESUS ONLY PART OF AN OLD STORY, OR CAN HE STILL ACT TODAY?

THAT IS EXACTLY WHY TESTIMONY MATTERS

The witness did not live in the time when JESUS physically walked through Galilee.

He lives in the same world we live in.

He had a physical problem.

And he did what he had learned:

he relied on JESUS.

Then he told what he experienced:

according to his testimony, the pain went away.

That is why testimonies matter.

They say:

“This isn't only something I read about.

This happened to me.”

And now the question becomes personal:

WHAT IF I'M THE ONE IN PAIN?

DON'T PRETEND THE PAIN ISN'T THERE

If you're in pain, don't pretend it doesn't exist.

And don't neglect your body.

If you need a doctor, go to a doctor.

If you need an examination, get the examination.

If treatment or follow-up has been recommended, continue to follow it.

But that does not mean you cannot also bring to God what is happening in your body.

You can pray.

You can ask for healing.

So you do not have to choose between:

“I will take care of my health”

and

“I will pray to God.”

You can do both.

SAY CLEARLY WHAT YOU NEED

You do not need a long prayer.

You do not need perfect words.

You can say clearly to the FATHER:

“FATHER, You see this pain.

You know what I'm going through.

I want this pain to leave.

I'm asking You to heal me.

Help me.”

That's enough.

Tell the truth.

Tell Him what you need.

But the witness did something else too.

He used the name of JESUS.

Why?

BECAUSE HE WASN'T RELYING ON HIS OWN POWER

The witness did not say:

“I have the power to make this pain leave.”

He wasn't relying on himself.

He was relying on JESUS and on His authority.

That is why he acted:

IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

It was not a magic phrase.

It was not a secret.

It was not the pronunciation of certain words that created the power.

He was showing that his faith was not in himself.

It was in JESUS.

And that brings us to a much more important question:

Who is JESUS?

And what does it mean for me to rely on Him?

JESUS IS NOT ONLY THE ONE WHO HEALED PEOPLE

When you read the stories of JESUS, you see many healings.

But JESUS did not come only to show people miracles.

He came so that people could return to God and be reconciled to Him.

JESUS said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the FATHER except through me.”

So before the name of JESUS becomes only a phrase we use when we have a problem, we need to understand something:

JESUS IS THE WAY TO THE FATHER.

BEGIN WITH JESUS

If you want to come near to your Creator...

if you want God to be more than Someone you've only heard about...

but the FATHER you speak to...

the beginning is JESUS.

You do not need to become perfect first.

You do not need to know everything.

But the question becomes personal:

Do I want to trust JESUS?

Do I want to come to God through Him?

If you do, you can simply tell God in your own words.

A SIMPLE PRAYER

It is not the words of a formula that save you.

It is not about perfect words.

What matters is that you are coming to JESUS with faith and sincerity.

You can say:

FATHER,

I come to You just as I am.

I believe in JESUS.

I believe that He is the Way to You and my Savior.

Forgive me for my sins.

Today I receive JESUS as the Lord and Savior of my life.

Draw me close to You.

Teach me to know You and to walk with You.

I want to begin a new life with You.

In the name of JESUS. Amen.

NOW TRY IT YOURSELF

Do you remember where we began?

You have pain that won't leave you.

The witness was in pain.

He relied on JESUS.

He acted in His name.

And according to his testimony:

the pain went away.

In the Bible, a woman had a fever.

JESUS rebuked the fever.

And the fever left.

Now your own pain is in front of you.

Do what you need to do for your health.

Seek medical care when you need it.

Have the appropriate examinations.

Follow the medical guidance you've been given.

And at the same time, turn to God.

You can say:

“FATHER, You see this pain.

You know what I'm going through.

I'm asking You to heal me.

I am trusting You.

In the name of JESUS. Amen.”

Then keep going.

Don't turn prayer into a formula.

Don't turn the name of JESUS into magic words.

And don't turn someone else's testimony into a promise about exactly when or how everything must happen.

But don't automatically say either:

“Those things only happened back then.”

Because this journey has shown you two pictures:

JESUS THEN.

TESTIMONY TODAY.

And now one question remains:

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

If one day the pain that won't leave you today goes away...

then you will have something you didn't have when you opened this journey:

YOUR TESTIMONY.
