I WANT TO LEARN TO PRAY

When you have a problem and don't know how to solve it.

DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO SOLVE?

It could be an illness.

A worry.

A problem in your family.

A situation at work.

An answer you're waiting for.

Or something that, no matter how much you think about it, you still don't know how to solve.

You've tried what you know.

You've thought about it.

You've looked for a solution.

But the problem is still there.

What do you do now?

WHAT IF THERE IS ANOTHER WAY?

Someone else faced a problem.

He didn't know how to solve it either.

He could not change the situation by himself.

But he did something very simple.

He prayed.

And according to his testimony, after he prayed, something changed.

So the question is:

What did he actually do when he prayed?

HERE IS WHAT HE DID

The witness was in pain.

He wanted the pain to go away.

But he couldn't make it leave by himself.

So he brought his need to God.

He asked God for the pain to leave.

He prayed.

And according to his testimony:

the pain went away.

So:

there was a problem.

He asked God for what he needed.

And he saw a result.

But what was he really doing when he prayed?

WHAT IS PRAYER?

In its simplest form, prayer is talking with God.

You can tell Him what is in your heart.

You can thank Him.

You can tell Him what you are going through.

And you can ask Him for help.

The witness had a need.

And he told God about it.

It was that simple.

If you have a problem...

a need...

or something you don't know how to solve...

you can tell God.

But that raises an important question:

Why should I turn to God for help?

WHO IS GOD?

The Bible tells us that God is the Creator.

He created life.

He created humanity.

He created the world we live in.

There are things you can do.

But there are also things that are beyond your power.

You have limits.

Your Creator does not have your limits.

So the question becomes:

Has anyone ever asked God for help and received an answer?

A MAN WHO COULD NOT SEE

The Bible tells us about a blind man.

He could not see.

He could not change his condition by himself.

When he heard that JESUS was passing by, he began calling out.

People told him to be quiet.

But he did not stop.

He kept asking for help.

Until JESUS stopped.

JESUS ASKED HIM

JESUS asked him:

“What do you want me to do for you?”

The man did not use many words.

He did not give a long explanation.

He clearly said what he needed:

“I want to see.”

JESUS healed him.

And he could see.

Look at how simple it was:

there was a problem.

He asked for help.

He clearly said what he needed.

And he received an answer.

But that happened in the Bible.

What about today?

YES. IT HAS HAPPENED TODAY TOO.

Go back to the witness who was in pain.

He had a real problem.

He prayed.

He asked God for the pain to leave.

And according to his testimony, the pain went away.

In another testimony, the problem was completely different.

There were clouds.

The witness needed them to open.

He could not move the clouds by himself.

He prayed.

And according to his testimony:

the clouds opened.

Two completely different situations.

But in both testimonies there was the same pattern:

a need.

a request brought to God.

and a result they testified to.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?

Not because the witness had some special power.

Not because he knew a secret.

Not because he used magic words.

He did something very simple:

he brought his request to God.

And that is exactly what JESUS taught people to do.

JESUS did not only say:

“Look at what I do.”

He also taught us to pray.

So the question becomes:

How did JESUS teach us to pray?

WHO DO WE SPEAK TO WHEN WE PRAY?

When JESUS taught people to pray, He taught them to approach God as:

FATHER.

So when you pray, you are not just throwing words into the air.

You are speaking to the FATHER.

JESUS taught us to ask.

To say what we need.

And to believe that we are speaking to Someone who hears us.

But now comes the practical question:

What should I say when I pray?

SAY CLEARLY WHAT YOU NEED

Remember the blind man.

JESUS asked him:

“What do you want me to do for you?”

And he said:

“I want to see.”

That was it.

He didn't build a speech.

He didn't search for perfect words.

He clearly said what he needed.

You can do the same.

If you have a problem, say it clearly.

For example:

“FATHER, this is the problem I have.

I don't know how to solve it.

This is what I need.

Please help me.”

Prayer does not begin with beautiful words.

It begins with honesty.

Tell the FATHER the truth.

And tell Him clearly what you are asking for.

WHAT DO I DO AFTER I PRAY?

After you ask, don't assume the prayer was pointless just because you didn't see something immediately.

Some answers may come quickly.

Others may take time.

And sometimes the answer may not come in the way you expected.

But waiting does not mean you have to give up.

JESUS taught us to continue in prayer.

So:

PRAY.

TRUST.

WAIT.

KEEP GOING.

If something that was troubling you goes away and later returns, don't immediately say:

“It was all for nothing.”

You can turn to the FATHER again.

You are learning to pray.

You are learning to bring to God what you are going through.

But now there is a deeper question:

How can I have this relationship with the FATHER?

HOW DO I COME TO THE FATHER?

This brings us to JESUS.

JESUS said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the FATHER except through me.”

So JESUS did not only teach us how to pray.

He also showed us the Way to the FATHER.

The Way is not a rule.

It is not a technique.

It is not a formula.

THE WAY IS JESUS.

The witness who prayed was not using a trick.

He was turning to God in faith.

If you want to begin this relationship with your Creator too, the beginning is to come to Him through JESUS.

YOU CAN BEGIN WITH A PRAYER

It is not the words of a formula that save you.

It is not about perfect words.

What matters is that you are coming to JESUS with faith and sincerity.

If you want to turn to God and begin this relationship, you can simply tell Him in your own words.

You can say:

FATHER,

I come to You just as I am.

I believe in JESUS.

I believe that He is the Way to You and my Savior.

Forgive me for my sins.

Today I receive JESUS as the Lord and Savior of my life.

Draw me close to You.

Teach me to know You and to walk with You.

I want to begin a new life with You.

In the name of JESUS. Amen.

Then what?

Now go back to the problem we started with.

NOW TRY IT YOURSELF

At the beginning, you came with a problem.

Maybe the problem is still in front of you.

But now you know something you may not have known at the beginning:

you can talk to God about it.

We saw a witness who had a problem.

He prayed.

And according to his testimony, he saw a result.

In the Bible, a man who could not see asked for help.

JESUS heard him.

And he could see.

According to the testimonies we saw, people have prayed about pain.

And the pain went away.

They have prayed about situations they could not change by themselves.

And they testified that something changed.

Now it is your turn to ask:

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TODAY THAT YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO SOLVE?

Don't search for perfect words.

Don't think you need to know how to pray a long prayer.

Tell the FATHER clearly.

You can say:

“FATHER, this is my problem.

I don't know how to solve it.

I'm bringing it to You.

This is what I need.

Please help me.”

Then:

PRAY.

TRUST.

WAIT.

KEEP GOING.

And don't think that prayer is only for this problem.

Begin talking to the FATHER.

About what worries you.

About what you need.

About what brings you joy.

About your life.

Because prayer is not only something you do when you have a problem.

It is part of your relationship with God.

And if one day you see an answer to what you are praying about today...

it will no longer be only someone else's story.

IT WILL BE YOUR TESTIMONY.
