Question
Can I say a simple prayer to accept Jesus?
Yes. It is not the words of a formula that save you; salvation comes when you believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord.
Short Answer
Yes. It is not the words of a formula that save you; salvation comes when you believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord. You can speak to God simply and sincerely, repenting, asking for His mercy, and expressing your faith.
The Word
“that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:9-10
“But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.””
Luke 18:13-14
“It will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”
Acts 2:21
