I REST, BUT I DON'T FEEL RESTED

When even rest doesn't restore you.

I REST, SO WHY DON'T I FEEL RESTED?

I sleep.

I sit down.

I take a day off.

But before long...

I'm tired again.

My body may have stopped.

But my mind keeps going.

Work.

Family.

Problems.

Things I still need to do.

I close my eyes...

but everything inside keeps moving.

Why can't I seem to find real rest?

WHAT IF THE TIREDNESS ISN'T ONLY IN YOUR BODY?

There is a kind of tiredness that goes away after you sleep.

But there is another kind.

You sleep...

but your mind doesn't rest.

You stop working...

but inside, you keep thinking.

One problem ends...

and another begins.

Then another.

And without realizing it, even when your body stops, you are still carrying the weight inside.

Someone else lived like this for a long time.

Until one day, he couldn't keep going anymore.

HE WAS CARRYING TOO MUCH

He had work.

Family.

Responsibilities.

Problems.

There was always something to solve.

When one thing ended...

another came.

Then another.

He kept going.

And going.

But inside him, the exhaustion was growing.

It was no longer just:

“I need some sleep.”

It had become:

“I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE.”

HE STOPPED

One day, he stopped.

He didn't look for a new way to work even harder.

He didn't make another plan.

He didn't search for a way to become stronger.

He turned to God.

And simply said:

“Lord, I surrender.

I can't do this anymore.

Help me.”

And according to his testimony, that was where something began to change.

THE PROBLEMS WERE STILL THERE

When he got up...

the work had not disappeared.

The responsibilities had not disappeared.

The problems had not disappeared.

But something had changed.

He was no longer trying to carry everything by himself.

The problems were still there.

But the weight was no longer the same.

He had stopped believing that everything had to be carried by him alone.

So the question becomes:

CAN I FIND REST EVEN WHILE I STILL HAVE PROBLEMS?

JESUS ALSO SAW TIRED PEOPLE

One day, the disciples of JESUS had been extremely busy.

There were so many people that they had not even had time to eat.

JESUS saw this.

And He told them:

“Come away by yourselves... and rest for a while.”

JESUS did not tell them:

“Keep going until you collapse.”

He knew that the body needed rest.

So:

physical rest matters.

But JESUS also spoke about a deeper kind of weariness.

“COME TO ME”

JESUS said:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened...”

And then He promised:

“...and I will give you rest.”

Look at what He said.

He didn't only say:

“Get more sleep.”

He said:

“COME TO ME.”

So there is a kind of weariness that is not solved only by a bed.

There is a weight that does not disappear simply because your body stops.

And JESUS says:

don't carry it alone.

Come to Me.

WHAT AM I CARRYING?

Maybe you're not carrying a bag on your back.

But you may be carrying:

a problem.

a debt.

a responsibility.

a family.

a decision.

a fear.

a future you cannot control.

And all day long, your mind says:

“I have to solve it.”

“I have to carry it.”

“I have to make this work.”

Then night comes...

and your body lies down, but the weight stays.

Until you are exhausted.

So the question is:

Do I have to carry all of this alone?

NO

NO.

The witness reached a point where he said:

“I can't do this anymore.”

And right there, he did something he had not been doing before.

He brought to God what he was carrying.

JESUS said:

“Come to me.”

That is exactly what the witness did.

He came to God with his exhaustion.

He didn't come pretending that he was fine.

He came as he was.

And he began to understand:

I do not have to carry the entire weight of my life alone.

BEGIN BY TELLING THE TRUTH

You do not need to say:

“I'm fine.”

if you're not fine.

You do not need to pretend that you're strong.

You can say to the FATHER:

“FATHER, I'm tired.

This is weighing on me.

I'm trying to carry it by myself.

I can't do this anymore.

Help me.”

That is not giving up on life.

It is stopping the pretense that you have to carry everything alone.

REST DOESN'T MEAN ABANDONING EVERYTHING

Tomorrow, you may still need to go back to work.

You may still have responsibilities.

There may still be things to solve.

There may still be people depending on you.

JESUS did not say:

“Never do anything again.”

He told His disciples to rest.

Then they continued.

So the difference is not:

“I will stop doing everything.”

The difference is:

WORK, BUT DON'T CARRY EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF.

Physical rest is necessary.

But your heart and mind also need to learn something else:

where to take the weight.

TO JESUS

JESUS did not say:

“Go somewhere and find rest by yourself.”

He said:

“COME TO ME.”

So the rest we are talking about here does not begin with a technique.

It does not begin only with organizing your day better.

It begins with JESUS.

But if you do not know JESUS, a natural question follows:

How can I come to Him?

JESUS IS THE WAY TO THE FATHER

JESUS said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the FATHER except through me.”

So we are not only talking about:

“How can I feel less tired?”

We are talking about a relationship with your Creator.

The witness did not simply find a new way to rest.

He turned to God.

And if you want to begin that relationship too, the Way to the FATHER is JESUS.

BEGIN WITH JESUS

It is not perfect words that save you.

It is not a formula.

If you truly want to turn to God and receive JESUS, you can simply tell Him in your own words.

You can say:

FATHER,

I come to You just as I am.

I believe in JESUS.

I believe that He is the Way to You and my Savior.

Forgive me for my sins.

Today I receive JESUS as the Lord and Savior of my life.

Draw me close to You.

Teach me to know You and to walk with You.

I want to begin a new life with You.

In the name of JESUS. Amen.

Then don't immediately return to the idea that now you have to fix everything by yourself again.

Stay with what you just told God:

I don't want to carry this alone anymore.

WHAT ARE YOU STILL CARRYING?

At the beginning we said:

“I rest, but I don't feel rested.”

Now ask yourself:

What am I carrying?

A problem?

A responsibility?

A fear?

A debt?

A situation I don't know how to solve?

Don't keep it only in your mind.

Tell the FATHER.

You can say:

“FATHER, this is what is wearing me down.

I don't want to carry it alone anymore.

I'm bringing it to You.

Help me.

Show me what I need to do today.”

Then do your part.

Rest when you need to.

Do the work in front of you.

Take care of the responsibilities that belong to you.

But don't go back to the thought:

“I have to carry everything alone.”

JESUS said:

“COME TO ME.”

The witness came.

And according to his testimony, something began to change inside him.

Now you can try it too:

stop.

Come to JESUS.

Tell Him what you are carrying.

And don't carry it alone anymore.

And if one day you can say:

“The responsibilities didn't disappear, but I'm no longer carrying them the way I used to”...

then it will no longer be only someone else's story.

IT WILL ALSO BE YOUR TESTIMONY.
