I DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY TO GO
I have a decision to make and I don't know what to choose.
DO YOU HAVE A DECISION TO MAKE AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO?
Maybe you have to choose.
To continue or to stop.
To accept or to say no.
To change jobs.
To begin something new.
To wait.
Or to take the step now.
You think through every possibility.
You try to understand which one is best.
But you still come back to the same question:
WHICH WAY SHOULD I GO?
WHAT IF YOU DON'T NEED TO RUSH?
Someone else spent many years doing what so many of us do.
He worked.
He made decisions.
He solved problems.
He kept moving forward.
There was always something else to do.
But one day he realized something.
He was moving a lot.
He was trying hard.
But he was no longer sure of one thing:
Where am I going?
HE WAS TRYING TO SOLVE EVERYTHING BY HIMSELF
There was always something to do.
Work.
Family.
Money.
Responsibilities.
Problems.
Whenever a problem appeared, he tried to solve it.
Then another one came.
And then another.
He thought:
“I just have to keep going.”
But the more he kept going...
the less he stopped to ask:
“AM I GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION?”
And that is exactly what his testimony describes.
ONE DAY, HE STOPPED
A moment came when he couldn't keep going anymore.
He went to the lake.
He sat down.
Then he knelt.
He didn't have a new plan.
He didn't have a clever answer.
He simply said:
“Lord, I surrender.
I can't do this anymore.
Help me.”
And according to his testimony, something changed.
Not because every problem was solved immediately.
But because, for the first time in a long time, he stopped trying to find the way by himself.
HE DIDN'T NEED TO RUN FASTER
He realized that the problem was not that he was doing too little.
He was doing a lot.
The problem was that he was always trying to find the direction by himself.
And instead of only asking:
“What should I do now?”
he began asking for something else:
“LORD, SHOW ME THE WAY.”
He realized:
I don't only need to keep moving.
I need to know which direction I should be moving in.
But is this only his story?
EVEN JESUS PRAYED BEFORE A MAJOR DECISION
JESUS was about to choose His twelve disciples.
It was an important decision.
What did He do before choosing them?
He prayed.
The Bible tells us that JESUS spent the night praying to God.
Then, when morning came, He called His disciples and chose the twelve.
— Luke 6:12–13
Look at the order:
Before the decision, JESUS prayed.
Then He made the choice.
DON'T ALWAYS BEGIN WITH THE DECISION
When you don't know what to do, the first question does not always have to be:
“What should I choose?”
It can be:
“HAVE I STOPPED TO ASK GOD FOR DIRECTION?”
The witness stopped.
JESUS prayed.
Then came the next step.
So when the way is not clear:
STOP.
PRAY.
ASK FOR DIRECTION.
That does not mean you stop thinking.
It does not mean you stop considering your options.
It means you do not make an important decision as though everything depends only on what you can figure out by yourself.
DON'T RELY ONLY ON WHAT YOU UNDERSTAND
The Bible teaches us not to rely only on our own understanding.
Trust God.
Ask Him for wisdom.
Look at what His Word says.
And ask Him to guide you in the step ahead.
That means:
You do not have to have every answer by yourself.
You can say:
“FATHER, I don't know what I should do.
Give me wisdom.
Help me see clearly the step in front of me.”
YOU DON'T NEED TO SEE THE WHOLE ROAD
The Bible calls the Word of God:
“a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”
— Psalm 119:105
A lamp does not necessarily show you the entire road all the way to the end.
But it helps you see what is in front of you.
THE NEXT STEP.
Maybe today you do not need to know what will happen a year from now.
Maybe you do not need every answer immediately.
Maybe the question is simply:
What is my next step?
DON'T CHOOSE JUST BECAUSE YOU FEEL PRESSURED
When several options are in front of you, you may be tempted to choose quickly just so the uncertainty will end.
Just so you can finally say:
“I made the decision.”
But a quick decision is not always the right decision.
So:
stop.
Pray.
Look at what the Word says.
Remove from your options whatever clearly conflicts with what God has said.
And ask for wisdom about what remains.
The Bible says that if you lack wisdom, ask God for it.
So when you don't know:
ask.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO INVENT AN ANSWER
Maybe you have prayed.
You have thought about it.
You have read.
You have asked for wisdom.
But it still isn't clear.
Then you can say:
“I DON'T KNOW YET.”
And that is okay.
Don't call every thought an “answer.”
Don't call every desire “direction.”
Don't make a decision only because you don't like waiting.
Keep asking God for wisdom.
Keep standing on what His Word already makes clear.
And do what you already know is right.
You do not have to run simply because the road is still unclear.
BECAUSE HE IS YOUR CREATOR
If God created you, then He is not a stranger to your life.
He knows you.
And if you want His direction, the question is not only:
“What should I do?”
There is a bigger question:
“DO I KNOW THE ONE I'M ASKING TO GUIDE ME?”
Because direction does not begin only with receiving an answer.
It begins with a relationship with your Creator.
And that brings us to JESUS.
BEFORE YOU FIND THE WAY, YOU NEED TO KNOW THE WAY
JESUS said:
“I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the FATHER except through me.”
So JESUS does not simply give us advice about the way.
He doesn't merely say:
“I'll show you a way.”
He says:
“I AM THE WAY.”
If you want a relationship with the FATHER...
if you want to know your Creator...
the beginning is JESUS.
And if this is what you truly desire, you can simply tell God in your own words.
A SIMPLE PRAYER
It is not the words of a formula that save you.
It is not about perfect words.
What matters is that you are coming to JESUS with faith and sincerity.
You can say:
FATHER,
I come to You just as I am.
I believe in JESUS.
I believe that He is the Way to You and my Savior.
Forgive me for my sins.
Today I receive JESUS as the Lord and Savior of my life.
Draw me close to You.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
Teach me to know You, to listen to Your Word, and to walk with You.
I want to begin a new life with You.
In the name of JESUS. Amen.
NOW ASK AGAIN
Do you remember the question we started with?
“Which way should I go?”
Don't rush.
Don't rely only on what you can understand by yourself.
Do what the witness did:
STOP.
Then you can say to the FATHER:
“FATHER, I don't know which way to go.
I don't want to try to find it only by my own strength.
Give me wisdom.
Help me recognize what is right.
Show me the step I should take.”
Then:
Pray.
Read the Word.
Don't rush.
Ask for wisdom.
Don't invent an answer simply because you want the uncertainty to end.
And when the next step becomes clear:
TAKE IT.
The witness thought he needed to run faster.
Then he realized he needed something else:
direction.
And maybe one day, when you look back at the decision that seems so difficult today, you too will be able to say:
“I DIDN'T FIND THE WAY BY MYSELF.
GOD GUIDED ME.”
And then it will no longer be only someone else's story.
IT WILL ALSO BE YOUR TESTIMONY.
