I CAN'T FIND PEACE
When your mind won't stop.
WON'T YOUR MIND SLOW DOWN?
You may be tired.
You may simply want to rest.
But your mind won't stop.
Work.
Money.
Family.
A problem.
A decision.
Something that needs to be done tomorrow.
You close your eyes...
but the thoughts keep going.
What do you do when you just can't seem to find peace?
WHAT IF PEACE DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING WAS FIXED?
Maybe you think:
“I'll feel better when this problem is solved.”
Then one problem is solved.
And another one comes.
Then another.
And without realizing it, your peace begins to depend on whatever problem comes next.
Someone else lived like this for a long time.
He worked.
He solved problems.
He carried responsibilities.
He thought he simply had to keep going.
But the more he tried to keep everything under control...
the less peace he had.
Until one day, he did something different.
HE WAS TRYING TO SOLVE EVERYTHING BY HIMSELF
He worked every day.
He had a family.
Work.
Responsibilities.
Bills.
Problems to solve.
Even when he was exhausted, he kept going.
He would think:
“Let me solve this problem too.”
Then:
“And this one.”
Always believing that after the next problem was solved, peace would finally come.
But the problems didn't end.
And over time came:
stress.
anxiety.
exhaustion.
His mind was no longer resting.
And the peace he was looking for seemed farther and farther away.
ONE DAY, HE STOPPED
One day, he couldn't keep going anymore.
He went to the lake.
He sat down.
Then he knelt.
He didn't have a new plan.
He didn't have some clever solution.
He simply said:
“Lord, I surrender.
I can't do this anymore.
Help me.”
And then something happened.
THE PROBLEMS DIDN'T DISAPPEAR
When he got up, the problems had not disappeared.
The work was still there.
The responsibilities were still there.
The things he needed to deal with were still there.
But according to his testimony, something had changed inside him.
For the first time in a long time, he stopped trying to carry and solve everything by himself.
He was no longer trying to carry the entire weight on his own.
And that raises an important question:
Can I have peace even when the problem has not been solved yet?
YES
YES.
Peace does not always mean:
“I don't have any problems anymore.”
You may still have a problem in front of you.
You may still have a decision to make.
There may still be things you need to face.
But you do not have to carry the full weight of them inside you.
The witness still had things to deal with.
But he did something he had forgotten how to do:
HE STOPPED.
And he turned to God.
But is this only his story?
MARTHA COULDN'T FIND PEACE EITHER
The Bible tells us about a woman named Martha.
She had many things to do.
She was trying to take care of everything.
She was dealing with many things at once.
And in the middle of everything that needed to be done, worry had begun to fill her.
JESUS said to her:
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.”
Mary was there beside her.
Mary had done something different.
She had stopped.
She was sitting near JESUS.
NOT EVERYTHING IS SOLVED BY RUNNING FASTER
Martha was trying.
The witness was trying.
Both of them had real things that needed to be done.
The problem was not that they had responsibilities.
The problem was that the weight of everything had begun to burden them inside.
Mary stopped beside JESUS.
The witness stopped and turned to God.
So sometimes the first question is not:
“What else do I need to do?”
But:
“Do I need to stop for a moment?”
WHERE DO I TAKE WHAT IS WEIGHING ON ME?
JESUS does not simply tell us:
“Don't worry.”
He shows us where to take what is weighing on us.
And He said something powerful about peace:
He gives a peace that the world cannot give.
In simple words:
JESUS gives a peace that does not depend only on what is happening around us.
So the question becomes:
How do I receive this peace?
DON'T CARRY WHAT IS WEIGHING ON YOU BY YOURSELF
The Bible teaches us to bring our worries to God.
In prayer.
Not to hide them.
Not to pretend they don't exist.
But to tell Him.
In simple words:
when you bring to God what is troubling you, you no longer have to carry it alone.
And the Bible teaches that the peace of God can guard our hearts and our minds.
That is exactly what the witness did.
He didn't say:
“I'm fine.”
He said:
“I can't do this anymore.
Help me.”
He did not hide what he was going through.
He brought it to God.
SAY WHAT IS WEIGHING ON YOU
You do not need beautiful words.
You do not need to pretend that you are strong.
You can simply say to God:
“This is weighing on me.
I don't know how to solve it.
I can't find peace.
Help me.”
The witness did not pray a long prayer.
He said what was truly inside him.
And according to his testimony, that is where the change began for him.
But now there is something else you need to understand:
Why are we going specifically to JESUS?
BECAUSE THE PEACE WE ARE LOOKING FOR COMES FROM HIM
JESUS did not simply say:
“Try to be calm.”
He said:
“My peace I give you.”
So we are not simply looking for a way to quiet the mind for a little while.
We are talking about the peace that JESUS gives.
And if you want to come to God, JESUS said:
“I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the FATHER except through me.”
So the Way to the FATHER is JESUS.
START WITH JESUS
If you want the peace that JESUS gives, don't begin by looking only for a feeling.
Begin by knowing the One who gives that peace.
You do not need to know everything.
You do not need to have fixed your whole life first.
You can begin by coming to JESUS just as you are.
By trusting Him.
By receiving Him as the Lord and Savior of your life.
And if this is what you truly desire, you can tell God simply, in your own words.
A SIMPLE PRAYER
It is not the words of a formula that save you.
What matters is that you are coming to JESUS with faith and sincerity.
You can say:
FATHER,
I come to You just as I am.
I believe in JESUS.
I believe that He is the Way to You and my Savior.
Forgive me for my sins.
Today I receive JESUS as the Lord of my life.
Draw me close to You.
Teach me to know You and to walk with You.
I want to begin a new life with You.
In the name of JESUS. Amen.
NOW DON'T CARRY IT BY YOURSELF
Go back to the thing that is not letting you rest.
Do not try to hide it.
Do not pretend it isn't there.
Tell the FATHER.
You can say:
“FATHER, this is what is weighing on me.
I don't know how to solve it.
I give it to You.
Help me.”
Then do what the witness did:
STOP.
Do not try to carry the whole world on your shoulders.
Pray.
Trust God.
Then keep going.
The problem may not disappear in that moment.
But peace does not have to wait until every problem is solved.
At the beginning, the question was:
“Why can't I find peace?”
Now try something different:
DON'T CARRY IT ALONE ANYMORE.
And if one day you can also say:
“The problems didn't all disappear immediately, but something changed inside me”...
then this will no longer be only someone else's story.
IT WILL ALSO BE YOUR TESTIMONY.
